Reason for the Season - Part 5: God's Gift for You
Topic: Giving Scripture: Luke 2:1–2:14
Jesus came to ordinary people in humble circumstances. God’s gift to you is peace in the person and work of Jesus Christ. The angels announced that the gift is a savior. He is the anointed one, the Messiah. He is the Lord. He takes control of your life. He is the fulfillment of the promises of God. You can know all about Jesus, but still not know Him. There is nothing you can do to earn the gift. It brings peace. Jesus is the Person of Peace and the Prince of Peace. When we listen to the news we see conflict and pain. We need peace. Peace is not the absence of conflict, but the presence of God in it. Anxiety, stress, worry, doubt. In the middle of any conflict, the peace of Christ is available to us. The peace of Christ offers you peace with yourself, others and with God. He will walk through the difficult times and conflicts with us. The key to peace is experiencing the Peace of God by opening our hearts and minds to Him.
