United Part 23: God's Plan Is Good

Topic: Romans Scripture: Romans 11:25–11:33

GOD’S PLAN IS...

#1 GREATER THAN YOU CAN SEE (25-27)

  • Israel rejects Jesus
  • Gentiles accept Jesus
  • Israel will accept Jesus

This mystery is that the Gentiles are fellow heirs, members of the same body, and partakers of the promise in Christ Jesus through the gospel.

Ephesians 3:6

“God determined in grace to save a great multitude of guilty sinners from every tribe and language and people and nation” - Belief Statement

After this I looked, and behold, a great multitude that no one could number, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, with palm branches in their hands, and crying out with a loud voice, “Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!”

Revelation 7:9-10

#2 GUARANTEED TO SUCCEED EVEN WHEN YOU FAIL (28-35)

Two Reasons...

Election

Now the LORD said to Abram, “Go from your country and your kindred and your father's house to the land that I will show you. And I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you and make your name great, so that you will be a blessing.

Genesis 12:1-2

God is not man, that he should lie, or a son of man, that he should change his mind.

Has he said, and will he not do it? Or has he spoken, and will he not fulfill it?

Numbers 23:19

Mercy

God says... “I will have mercy on whom I have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion.” So then it depends not on human will or exertion, but on God, who has mercy.

Romans 9:15-16

#3 FOR HIS GLORY AND YOUR GREATEST GOAL (36)

  • From Him
  • Through Him
  • To Him

“Man’s chief end is to glorify God, and to enjoy him forever.”

- Westminster Catechism

For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him. And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together.

Colossians 1:16-17
